U cannot do this in the current version of PX. U may want to call a server container in the PX job and do the range lookup in the server container by using a transformer stage and the appropriate database stage and then return the result back to the PX job.

We do this using IBM's Tivoli work Scheduler (TWS) on the mainframe.
TWS know which AIX server to run the job on and we supply a JCL with the script location to TWS.

Ray
Do u have an email address/phone contact for Bob Johnson?
We are working in the same direction. We are outgrowing our AIX servers very quickly and we are always pleading for more servers more CPUs all the time.

Thanks

There is a patch for this from Ascential. After applying it we got it to work.
The patch is for the sybaseocenu file.

This seems to be a DB2 version issue. Looks like u are using DB2 version8 as the client. What is the DB2 server version?
We had seen similar messages when the DB2 client version was 8 and the DB2 server version was still 7.
U need to talk to ur DB2 DBAs to get this resolved.

configuring db2/udb enterprise stage

We have recently set up the DWE edition of the UDB/DB2 on AIX with data partitioning in the production environment. (8 way AIXv5.3 machine). We are now working on accessing this data using db2/udb enterprise plug-in stage from DataStage EE from a 8 way AIX5.1 machine. This is a totally new set up fo...

Mukund
U should use the DB2/UDB API stage in DatStage EE to access DB2 on MVS.

As Krish said, MVS DS/390 is just a code generator. u will need to execute the cobol code on the mainframe thru a JCL.
The schedule the JCL, u will need a job scheduler like IBM's product,TWS (Tivoli Work scheduler) or Zeke.

Beta2 was supposed to be launched end of May, but, now the latest update on Beta2 is that it has been postponed to end of June'06.
As Vincient said earlier, Beta2 is now going to be launched on AIX platform too.

I have seen the same problem with DRS stage when loading into SQL server. Use the ODBC Enterprise stage instead, u will not face truncation issues.
