U will need to use some kind of mainframe scheduler, like IBM's TWS (Tivoli Work scheduler), which will handle the scheduling for u. In the scheduler u can set up multiple jobs and set up dependancies betn these jobs (JCLs).

surojeet DB2 API stage is a sequential stage and based on the network bandwith u have betn the mainframe and AIX server, it will further slow it down. For inserting large volumes of data, it will be faster to FTP the sequential files to the mainframe and load it thru a DB2 load utility, which slams ...

Here is what Ray said in full: "With no V in the PIC, and fewer than 10 digits specified, it should correctly choose Integer. If there is a V in the PIC, such as 9(9)V99, or ten or more unmasked digits specified, then it should choose Decimal (or Numeric). " I would like to add: It looks l...

we have the same experience. we cannot use the DB2 EE stage, since the DB2 server on the mainframe is not DB2 enterprise edition.
we are forced to use DB2 API stage.

I couldn't find the right forum to post HAWK related discussions, so, i am posting it here! We are getting ready for the HAWK BETA on AIX, which is supposed to be out by mid- May'06. Does anybody know what are the ideal machine requirements for the AIX box to put down HAWK BETA. Here is what i am lo...

Didn't mean to be offensive with the "why bother". sorry!

Why bother to do a lookup to omit 1st and last row. u can put the foll. constraint in the transformer:

Code: Select all

@INROWNUM > 1 and @INROWNUM <> @OUTROWNUM
If the constraint evaluates to TRUE then u shd all the rows except the 1st & last.

Get the port number from the SQL server DBA. The port number u r using seems to be the default dynamically determined port.
Were u able to connect to any other SQL server DB from this AIX node?

U can execute it in the Before SQL tab of the same stage.
u don't need a seperate stage for this.
I have done this within a DRS stage, i haven't tried it with the ODBC stage.

Thanks ken! I like this approach, this also ensures i will not overwrite the 1st attribute with a different value attribute.
Just to confirm, i need to read and write into the same hash file, correct?

Thanks for the response! Since each attribute is a column on my o/p, if the incoming data does not have a row for ...
