Cleaning up Ascential directory on UNIX (Hash Files)
We did the big no no on our Unix Development box and ran out of space on the $DSHOME drive. One person keeps getting $RT_CONFIG255 file not available. I found out from DSXCHANGE searches that this comes when you run out of space and sure enough we did. So, now I want to see where the space hogs are....

REBOOT of the Server is the answer for this....
We found out that the IPCS command should be working and IBM suggested a reboot of the server. This reboot got the ipcs working. Not only uv -info is working for us now but also the clean up resources in director properly displays all of the datastage processes and allows us to unlock certain resour...

Datastage is running because we can get into all tools (designer, director, admin, and manager) on this server. The ipcs command on it's own returns: [URBDWDEV]/etl/home/dsadm>ipcs IPC status from /dev/mem as of Mon Jan 12 21:16:16 CST 1970 T ID KEY MODE OWNER GROUP Message Queues: Shared Memory: Se...

For this process we are outputing the same data to our Mainframe DB2 operational tables and to our warehouse tables that are housed on T/D. We are using the most updated Multiload plugin which Ascential gave to us. Ascential has told us that previous plug-ins for Teradata have had major updates and ...

Teradata Multiload Decimal column being rounded?
I have a transformer that outputs 2 stages. One stage is a sequential comma delimited file and the other is a Multiload to Teradata. The sequential csv file is moved to our mainframe via a shared NFS mount and loaded to a mainframe DB2 table so that operational systems can consume the data for only ...

We are a divivsion of an Insurance company that is moving from UDB DB2 on UNIX to Teradata. This is because 2 Data Warehouse groups for 2 divisions are merging technologies.
