Centrify and DS PAM Configuration Issues
I'm facing a rather peculiar situation here . I want to use credential mapping to set up user ids for a datastage 8.7 server we recently installed. Active security provider is Infosphere registry ( not J2EE) . We use the centrify PAM module for authentication to dsengine. 'dsadm' is setup on LDAP wi...

View Server side trace files
I have a project where we enabled server side tracing to audit a protected project and make sure nothing happens that was out of our notice.
I regularly clean up those huge trace files to save some space .
Can I view these files on Unix ? The datastage administrator view box is of limited utility .

That comment in the redbook is perfectly valid . They suggest using a filter ( Or Switch) stages only if the condition expression to be evaluated is parametrized ( and evaluated at runtime ) . Otherwise for all fixed conditions - go witha transformer. I doubt if they will mention it multiple times w...

yes , but nothing new in terms of features - and i guess that most transformation functions and stages are already available in server jobs. A better way to join data would have helped. I do appreciate the use of common repository objects . Im not sure if the underlying Universe engine is from the o...

in some cases as single server job may need to be broken up into multiple parallel jobs - think of how that will impact you sequencer redesign+development effort. If you are adding any parallel job environment variables ($APT_*) - you will need to include them in your sequencer if you want to change...

This is such an old thread , and has some useful , though possibly dated info . Given what i know about Ab-Initio - It looks like the Apple Macintosh of ETL. :) Most companies do not want to invest in Ab-Initio because developers are scarce and costly- I guess they (Ab-Initio) may have some learning...
