Re: Backups/Restore
Yes we take tar backs with root id on folders that change after installs. Typically Projects, AppServer and InformtaionServer as 3 different tar files. The issue we face is it takes too long specifically AppServer tars, trying to find ways to make it fast. I am not aware of excluding subfolders with...

Backups/Restore
Hello, Before an outage, we take tar backups of filesystems that change after installs (Projects/WAS/IS folders) and it takes few many hours to do this depending on the server and project sizes Wish to see how this backup situation is handled by others, especially when the outage window is small. Th...

Figured from IBM a few things, which makes this tool no more relevant. 1. isrecovery tool is deprecated, it's not there already in 11.3 2.For the use case of us using this before an outage, is recovery tool can't be used. It's more of a disaster recovery tool, expects a clean install to be done firs...

isrecovery tool backup/restore
Does the isrecovery tool provided within 9.1.2 really work for taking backups along with restore? We tried backup but then it won't restore. Is isrecovery tool something reliably used for backups and restore within datastage?
Thanks,
Thanks,

Data Profiling in Aster database
Hello Experts,
We are trying to profile data in Aster database and have issues connecting IA with Aster. I am not sure if DataDirect has odbc drivers that supports aster.
Has anyone used this with Terradata connectors. Appreciate sharing the information
Thanks

Datastage 8.7 migration
Experts, We have this migration project from Datastage 7.5.1 to Datastage 8.7 and it seems the job run times are more (sometimes double the run time) in newer version(with the danger of exceeding batch window/SLA) without any change except migration. Is this noticed by any one else? While turning of...

Datastage v 8.7 jobs slow with ops console & autopurge l
Hello Experts, We are migrating from Datastage 7.5 to Datastage 8.7. We have this situation where the datastage jobs slow down with autopurge logs turned on and OPS Console turned on( DSODBON=1). Has anyone had similar experiences. Even turning off one of them shows slight improvements but not as go...

Operations Database
Hello Experts,
Will the Data stage jobs run successfully while the write to DSODB tables fail?
Trying to figure if Operations database be included in failover (HACMP)?
Thanks for the reply.

splitting XML with multiple root level
Hello,
Is there a way in data stage to split an XML file with multiple root level?
I have a MQ connector sending replies in XML that has multiple root level tag, as it will fail in parsing, trying to find a way to split it.
Please let me know, if it's possible.
Thanks,
Das

Re: Oracle Enterprise stage issue - Migration to 8.7
Is this resolved? What version of oracle client is used in DS8.7 version?
