To anyone else that runs into this issue, we finally found the problem after some trial and error. The directory had been changed to: /opt/IBM/InformationServer/Server/DSOMD/xml I believe this might have occurred after an installation of Information Governance Catalog (IGC). In any event, after open...

I have ensured that the id running the jobs, does have writable permissions to that directory. We made sure it was group writable. I manually created files there no problem with the execution id. A good point though, I forgot I had run another test: I ran a job using the administrator id with metada...

Operational Metadata in DataStage
Hello, I am looking for some help on some problems we are having with Operational Metadata. After turning the option on from Administrator (or simply running a one-off job for testing), the warning message I am getting is: "Unable to Write <jobname,number,etc...>.xml to OMD.XML.DIR" There ...

To be fair, I tried to delete the records as suggested from the dropdown box, and that solution would work too. Editing the xml file was nice because the records with port 9443 were already there - once we got rid of the port 9080 records, it allowed the 9443 records to show up automatically. Thanks...

Changing port numbers in connection dropdown box
Hello, When we first open Designer, Director, etc. we are given the "Attach to Project" window. Under "Host name of the services tier", we have the dropdown box where we have all of our previously used connections. I have three connections that all use the default port 9080. We r...

Control-M DataStage Plugin (Parameter Set Values)
Hello, We're in the process of moving our DataStage scheduling to Control-M and I ran into a scenario I was wondering if any of you had encountered. Rather than run a shell script wrapper/dsjob command, Control-M offers a plugin that can call jobs directly, and allows the ability to set the standard...

Re: Every information server session at IOD2013
I should have checked here before forming my own agenda! Thanks for the list, that's a very helpful way of looking at the sessions. I just wanted to add one more to the list that appears to have been overlooked: IQM-3816A: Birds of a Feather: InfoSphere Information Server: Experiences improving and ...

Esotic, Perfect! I had been trying to walk through the XML as it is presented: from top to bottom. That explains why I wasn't able to output across lists. The suggestion to start from the bottom child and then work up was exactly the missing link I needed. Now it's behaving as I would expect. Thanks...

Hopefully simple XML question (Assembly Editor w/ 1:M rels)
I feel like I'm missing some small but crucial detail to work with the Assembly Editor screen in 8.5. Let's say I have an XML file that's in a format of: <Person> <Name>Sean</Name> <Address> <AddressType>Home</AddressType> <Street>123 Main Street</Street> </Address> <Address> <AddressType>Work</Addr...

Using massive (20,000 different fields) XSD to parse XML
Hi, I'm new to the features in 8.5, and we just got access to the new XML stage today [due to a PMR]. I'm working on a project where we have been given two files: an XSD and an XML file. I've imported the XSD into the Schema Library Manager and it has some 20k different fields. For the moment, all I...

Ray, Naturally, of course I am providing the full information, job export, etc to the PMR support analyst. It is not a sequential file though, it's actually occuring when writing out to the Netezza Enterprise stage. Mike, Yes, I know the Netezza Connector is supposed to be better. We semi-recently s...
