I did some searching and did not find any error 262 in any DataStage documentation, header files, or support sites. I would therefore assume that the error code is not generated by DataStage.

There's no sorting requirement for Lookup stage links. I would think sorting unnecessarily would slow the job down.

I haven't run into that. It sounds complicated. Perhaps there's an operating system file level permission issue. Have you looked through the SystemOut.log file for clues?

You can export data rule properties from IGC into Excel. I've done that before just to get a document that lists all the data rule names. I'm not sure if all the other details are available from IGC or not. I know that the data rule definition / logic is visible from IGC.

I have not done this either but I gather from the documentation that it is supported. I kind of doubt that WebSphere would need to come into play. For step by step instructions, assuming you searched and came up empty, then I would suggest opening a case to work with DataStage Support on this. They ...

I read that yesterday also... in the 18% to 30% overhead range. That is significant!!! I'm glad we run ours on POWER8!

I would second Craig on that. Your error is likely intermittent and will happen again. It would help to prepare and open a Support case about it.

There is a DS Macro named DSProjectName. One place you can access it is from the UserVariables Activity stage in a Sequence job. I'm not familiar with that one but often times you simply have to open a service request or case with IBM Support to request a given individual patch. They will send you a link to download it.

Just a thought...

When you migrated from AIX to Linux did you also upgrade your DataStage version?

Newer versions of DataStage tend to get more strict, so it could be due to that rather than the OS.

For what it's worth, on UNIX/Linux anyway, you can schedule a repeating job to run daily, then you can go to the server's command line, as the same user, and edit the crontab entry and manually edit the schedule that Director created and make it run every 5 or 10 minutes, or hourly, etc. Just don't ...
