Yes... The PMR response so far was to ask if I can strip off the # sign before the CASS stage. That is an easy workaround but I don't think it is a resolution.

Run the ISA Lite Health Check first. Then make sure a parallel job with Transformer stage compiles, runs, and gives correct results on 2 nodes. In the past, I have detected compiler version mismatch issues from doing that sort of test. Then run a variety of DataStage jobs and test your Connector sta...

The 11.7 Knowledge Center had two matches, one of which referenced the IBM Information Server Enterprise Search, which we did not install. I had also searched the Support Portal and it only matched on some kind of mainframe printing program. Thanks JRodrequez for sharing some insights on this. Perha...

What is ODF and where is it documented?

We have installed 11.7 on AIX. One of our firsts test was to setup IA and IMAM and run data quality and column analysis from the thin client. At first it failed and gave a generic "Failed" error and hovering over that revealed some gibberish. We found in the SystemOut.log file complaints a...

You could also go to 11.7 which was released December 2017. You can do side by side installs of different instances of the same of different versions but it's cumbersome, sometimes sloppy, and you may end up encountering unusual issues due to using non-default port numbers. Been there, done that. It...

Interesting error. I would be curious what Support had to say.

U.S. Address Certification CASS stage and # pound sign

Has anyone run into this behavior before and can it be explained? I have whittled down a sample address with 4 variations, and am only showing the relevant lines 1 and 2. The differences are whether or not there is a space after the # sign and whether or not the # sign part (the secondary unit) is s...

Perhaps you have the Lookup stage set to allow multiple records to be returned from the reference link.

We use to run DataStage 8.7 jobs on AIX using an Oracle 11 client to read and write against Oracle 12 databases. No performance issues. We also upgraded to DataStage 11.x prior to the 8.7 hitting the end of its support life cycle in April 2017. And yes, the DataStage 11.x client requires 64-bit Wind...

I was just pointing out that a PostgreSQL ODBC driver is available, and therefore I would expect it to work. It should not matter that the database is hosted on Amazon. I have not connected to that type of database myself but I have over the years used many other built in ODBC drivers with the Conne...

Try configuring your ODBC driver in the .odbc.ini file if your DataStage server is on UNIX or Linux. There is a PostgreSQL Wire Protocol driver available. Then use the ODBC Connector stage in your jobs. Make sure there aren't any firewalls blocking the database connection.

Sounds like complete nonsense, like some kind of old urban legend that occasionally resurfaces. Did you hear this rumor from someone at IBM??? It sounds like too much of a technical and expensive undertaking and could inflict a lot of customer pain. Unless the DataStage product manager confirms this...
