Looping on a sequential file

Hello,

I need to loop on a job by setting a parameter from a list of value stored in a sequential file. i.e. I want to launch the job one time for each line of my file.

Can I achieve this using the loop feature in the sequencer ?

Thanks,

Benouche

ArndW, I think it's better to check this twice.
Could be a simple export/import between 2 projects in development ...

This message is displayed when you try to open a job having only the executables available, for example in production environment if it is your company policy. So it is a normal behaviour if you imported a dsx containing only the executables... During export, you select which components you want (jo...

Roy,

you did not answer to my first query :
What is the value of the env. var AT RUNTIME for both jobs ?

If the values are different, you'll have to find out why, depending on how you set env var / job parameters in your projects ...

Re: Using Load option in Oracle with indexes

Roy, did you check the value the APT_ORACLE_LOAD_OPTION at runtime ? You can check this in the job log, it's the second/third entry of the job log (Environment variables settings : ...). If it is set to DIRECT=TRUE, this will explain the behaviour of the job, and you'll have to modify the settings o...

Bala, this warning is issued by DataStage because you did partition your reference data set (Fileset) in a mode other than Entire. The standard use of Lookup is to use Entire mode for the reference data set, so that the data will be shared in memory to perform the lookup operation for all input part...

the dsx file you have does not contain the .o file needed for the execution of the job. Look into the file and you'll find a msg explaining the .o file is missing.

That's why you MUST get back to the source project and do or ask for a "force compile" before export.

Hello, you have a problem with the export, the binary file being empty in your dsx file exported (you can check this in the dsx file itself with a text editor). Perform a 'Force compile' of the job in the source project and then the export/import procedure of the job. It will do it  . Benouche

Did you check the 'Default' value ? you can specify it by doubleclick on the specific field in the column tab.

Saravanan,

if you have only one record out of 10, i suspect you did not specified the "Record Delimiter" or "Final Delimiter" field at the record level, which should be something like 'Unix NEWLINE' or 'end'.

Metastage installation

Hello, I'm looking forward to install Metastage. We are currently in 6.0 version of DStage, running on Unix Server. I'd like to use the same Unix server as Metastage server. On the server is also located Oracle. Unfortunatly, it seems that on the server side, Directory Administrator and listener are...
