DataStage Director is the tool used in DataStage to monitor the process status. If you trigger the DataStage sequence process through a scheduling tool like Autosys / Control-M, they will get the summary status i.e success / failure status from DataStage to Scheduling tool. You can bring in standard...

As a pre-requisite to JOIN stage, the dataset data should be pre- hash partitioned and sorted on the JOIN key columns before they are fed to the JOIN stage. If the data in the dataset is hash partitioned and sorted on JOIN keys in the previous job, then you can retain the same partitioning by settin...

Try 2 things, 1) I am not sure if your DS Admin changed $SAP_CPIC_PASSWORD environmental variable value to the new password. Try that. 2) Regarding special characters in SAP related parameters, yes - we have faced problems when the SAP related passwords had special characters like "#". Com...

Hi, Storing and Retreiving user id / password and other sensitive credentials is not a good practice. Work with your DataStage admin to have these database credentials setup as DataStage Environmental variables in DS Admin for the given project. Once the above DS Env variables are setup, you can use...

Hi Ray, I have created PSDB named "PSDB_ORA", and has both the server name and database name configured through the TNSnames.ora file entry. The system DSN created "PSDB_ORA" is working successfully individually. I went through the ProfileStage log, and looks like that Repository...

Error Importing MetaData in ProfileStage.

Hi, I have installed Profilestage on windows box and installed messageswitch and Analysis server on same server. The oracle DB used as the PSDB is also on the same server. I have set up both System DSNs for Oracle connectivity and Southbreeze (Text driver) on server. ON the Profilestage client in my...

Hi, From your scenario stated, You can do the following. 1) Use a Control table with Feed-id identifying the source/ Target process uniquely. 2) Other columns in the above control table could be Sequence number / Key (From source), load date and so on as per your requirement. 3) You have to concaten...

Hi Sambasiva, You confirmed my doubt about the wrong Oracle plugin stage selected by you. You can read through the DS server jobs Help / documentation available with the DS client / server installation. It's very detailed and neat. Learning period for Datastage server edition is very less. All the b...

Re: loading data from oracle to flat file

Hi Sambasiva, After reading the error message you have posted, I think you might have chosen a wrong Oracle Plug-in stage as the Input Source stage. Which Oracle stage have you chosen in your job? "STREAM" keyword is generally associated with the primary data stage / link. Can you give det...

Re: Trace runtime information - where is it ?

Hi Raj, Based on your below message, I think you are trying to understand Server Side Tracing. :?: Once you enable Server side tracing for troubleshooting, the performance will be affected. A message called "Respository Interface Tracing is enabled" message comes up when you connect to the...

Suresh, Can you be more eloborative about your requirement and why you want to use Peek Stage in DS PX environment? Peek Stage can have 1 input and N outputs. It's mainly used to output / print the input dataset data while being copied into output dataset into the job log or different output file. S...

DB2 Bulk loader or any Bulk loader provided by Datastage internally calls the respective DB's Bulk loading utility. So it's not slow as it inserts without DB logging.
