I wonder if the time is being spent in converting strings to numerics I was also wondering about the same thing, however I don't think it made any sense that the job took so long just to convert strings to numbers. This made me really curious about the conversion process, but I can't find any infor...

I'll give it a shot perhaps some time next week. I'll post the results here when I have them.

Hi, qt_ky. Thanks for the reply. I'm using 6,136,023 data records and 25,757,890 reference records. I'm running both methods separately and I made sure there are no other jobs running. I'm using a server dedicated for InfoSphere, so I don't think there are any other apps or processes with significan...

NUMERIC Comparison Takes Too Long

Hi, I have 2 match specifications, MS1 & MS2. Both match specifications use only 1 match pass and both are basically the same except for 2 match commands, MCA & MCB. MCA & MCB compares columns containing numeric codes, so I decided to use the NUMERIC comparison method for both match comm...

try ps -ef | grep agent that should show up two processes, loggingAgent and AgentImpl, you should then be able to use the Process ID's to Kill them Let us know if that works Exactly what I need to solve my problem. Though I'm still wondering what the two processes showed up in the first place. :?

I'm back; with no workaround nor solution to my problem. I think I need to go back and share more on my match specifications in this thread. Hopefully, someone could help me identify the source of my problem. Here goes. I have a Reference with columns r1 and r2. This Reference will be matched with a...

Re: Matching

I am using Unduplicate (duplicate) for Matching. The result Matching of fine. The problems I find is in some cases the matches are not working properly. For Example Jack Doe, 123 John Doe St , MN,32101 Jane Doe, 123 John Doe St , MN,32101 Is considered as match. Does anyone has come across this pro...

MatJoinOp is the operator that looks after the join on the combinations of blocking fields from the two sources. I presume you have specified these correctly, since the Match Designer won't really let you do otherwise. Is there any more detail to the error message? Might there be null values in the...

It would be easier if you posted the exact error message(s). I have never seen errors caused by data (apart from NULL in the wrong place). ... Here it is: Reference_Match_0,0: Fatal error from object or function QSM_MatJoinOp, code 1 I already posted this error message in another thread and nobody ...

What errors are you getting? Do they relate, perhaps, to "block overflow"? That might mean that your blocking fields aren't discriminating well enough, so you are ending up with more records per blo ... I can't see all your replies. I don't have a premium account. Noted your suggestion on...

Error in Match Reference Job

Hi. I'll get to the point. Is it possible that the condition of data inside the blocking or matching column(s) caused a match reference job to fail? Any characters that shouldn't be in the blocking or matching column(s)? I've been getting errors in my match reference job and I'm currently suspicious...

QSM_MatJoinOp error

Hi. I was running a job doing Reference Match and got an error stating something "Fatal error ... QSM_MatJoinOp, code 4". The job was aborted and no result was produced. I've been doing a Reference Match job for so long and never encountered this error before. I tried googling about the er...

A couple of things come to mind: - Just a name isn't a lot to reliably match people on. I'd try to see if you could find a little more to work with. - Initials to block on is way too loose, and both soundex and NYSIIS of first name are overkill. Soundex makes checking an initial redundant. You migh...

Matching Names

Hi. I'm a newbie here. I haven't used IBM QualityStage much to date, but I have something to discuss regarding a matching process that I've done a few days ago. I hope I'm posting this in the right place. I'll get to the point. I was assigned to match an external data into a master data. Within this...
