tried the -file option also. Apparently part of my problem is I don't know how to find the "domain" name. And I am not positive about the port numbers.

Maybe it will all be obvious after a good night's rest.

Ok, I could try that. But what gets entered for domain. I thought that was the ip address that I've entered for server. Where do I find what to enter for domain. (please forgive my obvious ignorance) and yes those are harcoded values........ so far. this is all in an effort towards being able to put...

ERROR: Failed to open project Status code = 80011

I cant believe my situation is so different from all the other posts regarding 80011, but I have spent a good portion of the day reading posts of others that have had similar issues and still not found the resolution I need. (why don't folks posts what fixes their problem instead of just saying &quo...

Our servers are AIX 5.3 and we are having similar performance issues. It takes several minutes to start DS clients, often a minute or more to open a job and sometimes up to a minute just to open a stage. I've been told that 8.x version are much more network intensive than the 7.5 versions. I've also...

I see this post is a little old and maybe I'm to late but how about putting in explicit sort stages so you can specify the amount of memory to use.

The problem is not unique to Oracle. I ran into the exact same problem yesterday and our db is DB2.

I took the low road and changed the password, knowing I'll have to deal with this later. :(

Never heard it called that, are you perhaps thinking of the Nested Condition stage? :? No, that is different than what I was referring to. What I am referring to is labelled "Sequencer" in the pallette. When placed on the canvas it gets a default stage name like Sequencer_##. But, when th...

If I understand your question correctly, and I may not, what is provided as the partition table is the name of a table that you want your data to be partitioned like. i.e if table A is partitioned on col X and you want your data coming out of the DB2 stage partitioned on col X then, provide table A ...

You may need to watch the df and/or du while the job that is experiencing space issues is running because once the job finished, good or bad, it releases the space. So if you check the space usage after the job is done, you may still show space available.

Also known as a Sequence Conditioner, correct?

Often used for controlling "action(s)" following failed job activities. (Thanks to Andy for teaching me this one) :D

After considerably more "research" I clearly understand what is happening; although I have no explanation as to why; and it is repeatable. Apparently the stage is reading the select stmt out of some sort of cache or something instead of what is displayed on the screen. follow this sequence...
