Ustring to String Implicit Conversion
I've gone throughevery stage in my jobs and have eliminted every reference to extended=unicode. I've checked the OSH and there is no reference to Ustring. However, I still receive the following warning: Join_131: When checking operator: On input data set 1: When binding input interface field "S...

OK, maybe I was a little hasty in marking this one resolved. It seems that when the columns in both the Dataset stage and the columns in the Multiload stage are set to unicode I continue to get the warnings (errors) and the truncation occurs. If I set both stages to not be unicode I dont get the tru...

NLS, Unicode and Ustring primer?
Can someone tell me where I can read a good primer on NLS unicode and ustring. I've never dealt with it before and I don't know enought to even know what questions to ask. I only know that specifying it or not can/does result in implicit conversions from ustring to string. Just need to understand it...

Sorry Ray... Thanks Craig. Metadata is char(40) in both stage. I did realize just as I was leaving last night that in the source Dataset it is set to extended=unicode and in the Multiload stage it was not. I hurriedly changed it and reran (before they took the system down for maintenance). That elim...

Why are Values being truncated
I have what should be a very simple job. Dataset to a Teradata Mload stage. Everythin seems to be working excep that for every row that is processed and every column the following warning msgs are given: NadrOutboundTempTable,0: Warning: Value "9297104 " truncated to "9297104 " N...

What's really strange is that, if you create an input pattern override for BB^^+T. it parses this address quite happily. Does space occur in your STRIPLIST? You are quite correct. BB^^+T does work quite nicely.... today. Not sure what I was doing Friday that caused it not to work. I guess that's wh...

Po Box and House number Pattern
I'm sure this question will seem quite basic to most but I am new to QS, so please bear with me. What must be done in the pattern overrides for the following address to be handled properly: PO BOX 123 9876 MAIN ST I have added pattern BB^<^+T to the override patterns but when testing the address it ...

Dropping component "X" because of a prior componen
This one has been asked and answered many times but I'm still stuck. Getting error: lkp_onCUSId: When checking operator: On output data set 0: Dropping component "ADR_NBR" because of a prior component with the same name. primary link into lookup is from a seq file. Lookup link is from Tera...
