Oracle patch
We just received docs from Oracle on memory leak for 9.2.0.5. There is a work around listed as well as the 9.2.0.7 patch. He's going to try those and see if it helps. To clarify, the job I listed uses two OCI 9i stages. ------------ I just ran DS.TOOLS->4. Check integrity of job files and received t...

More info
Ray, 1) The user id running has not changed. It is always dsadm. 2) Thanks for the fixtool example. However, no errors were found. I'm going to run it against all of the job files just to be safe. 3) All RT* files are writable by dsadm. Craig, 1) My sysadmin agrees with you about the $LD_PRELOAD. He...

Abnormal termination of stage
I can't figure out why some of my jobs are aborting. These jobs have been stable for months, but in the last week, we've suffered several unexplained errors. Here's an example: Abnormal termination of stage LoadCustomerGroupDimension..XfrmCustomerGroup detected After resetting the job in DS director...

$PROJDEF is definately NOT available in version 7.0. I'm not sure what version was that implemented it, but it is available in 7.5. In fact, it is one of the major reasons we used to justify upgrading 7.0 to 7.5. With 7.0, you're limited to using default parameter values, or creating an external rou...

The control chars are form feeds or clear screen codes for your term type. You can SET.TERM.TYPE to any defined at the UNIX level in terminfo. You can also suppress your column headings and regular headings with COL.HDR.SUPP and HDR.SUPP or something close to that. Do HELP COL. and see what comes u...

Make uvsh SQL output columnar instead of vertical
I'm performing some queries on DS_JOBS and I don't want the VERTICAL output. Here's my SQL SELECT NAME fmt '70L', CATEGORY fmt '70L', EVAL "TRANS('DS_JOBOBJECTS','J\':@RECORD<5>:'\ROOT',31,'X')" AS DEPEND_JOBS FMT '55L' FROM DS_JOBS WHERE JOBTYPE = '2' ORDER BY NAME ; This always produces ...

Just a little extra info. When one double-clicks or right-click/properties either a Job Activity or Routine Activity stage, the following happens: The hourglass 'wait' cursor pops up for a few milliseconds or so. The stage is selected, with a resize box around it and the cursor is the four-way-arro...
