Hi Ernie, Stage lineage downstream of the lookup shows everything upstream. Both the stream and the reference. This is pretty much expected because there are many columns on the stream that show correct lineage. It's just this one that has a range lookup that has the problem. There are no derivation...

Hi guys, Ray, the lineage view in DS shows the same thing as MW. Ernie, the lookup is not the last stage in the lineage. It is only the last stage shown on the stream lineage. The lineage breaks at the lookup and follows the reference link. The reference link lineage goes back all the way to the dat...

Column lineage messed up in Lookup Stage (if range lookup)

Hi folks, now that I have column lineage working through transformers, I am finding that in the few cases that I have a range lookup applied to a column, the lineage gets confused at the lookup stage. It follows the reference link rather than the stream link. In this case our range lookup is applied...

Thanks Ray.

Hi folks, there is a client patch for v8.1.0.0 and 8.1.0.1 called patch_JR33537_client_windows_8100-1.ispkg that solves the problem.

After applying the patch, export and re-import the jobs that contain transformers, then run automated services in MW.

That's it.

Oracle Bulk Load

Hi folks, I am trying to use the Bulk Load option in the Oracle Connector stage. I have found the following options are required to get a successful load: 1) Use before SQL statement to remove pk and and drop all indexes (including pk index). 2) Use after SQL statement to create pk and all indexes. ...

Hi Brad, thanks for the response. I too have this one working. I am wondering if you have tried the Oracle supplied ODBC driver instead.

Thanks,

Anyone using Oracle's ODBC Driver?

Hi folks, I am currently using the DataDirect Oracle ODBC driver to import table definitions via the ODBC option in Connector Import Wizard. For grins, I just tried making a DSN using the Oracle driver (in our case it's called libsqora.so.11.1), but the wizard cannot load it (either my fault in the ...

Thanks for the update Doug... Good info. Another way to review this is to look at why any column updates are needed? ...and if it's to get the connector to behave the way you want, then maybe the issue is with the Connector runtime.... Hi folks, looks like everyone is getting on board with the unbounded varchar idea for reducing memory and disk consumption. Meanwhile I am trying to get away from post-import table def edits. Can someone remind me what environment variable addresses the way varchars are handled? I know there is one,...

Just an update. I finally have the ODBC connector wizard working with ODBC and an Oracle DSN. 1) The import mechanism is better (more options, and more reliable) than either orchdbutil and the Oracle Plug In method. 2) The table is imported into Metadata Workbench as a Database Table and into DataSt...
