Pwd issue for PACK for SAP BW
Knowledge Sharing - Mods, feel free to move this post to whereever it may fit We have found that some special characters cannot be used in teh SAP Log on details in the DS Admin for SAP When using these, the BW will not translate these correctly, and the data transfer will not take place. No useful ...

Issue is all about saving money - Running one Oracle database costs x thousand euros a year. My idea was that if fail over engine and services could use the same Oracle repository and leave the Oracle part of the failover to say Data Guard, than a pretty amount of money could be saved. Instead we no...

Assigning two DS engines to the same xmeta repository
Hi guys Want to know if anyone has experience in using the same metadata repository for two (or more) DS Engines. That is when you install the second engine, then you should be able to select an already existing db instance to work as repository for jobs running the second engine also, eliminating t...

It does - but I actually had the same thought - so no offence. Looked into if the log entry only was visible if a hash file was found, but I get lines with (FOUND) as well as (NOT FOUND). It HAS worked earlier in same release version of the job, som for some obscure reason, it is skipped now. wonder...

BeforeJob does not appear in job log
BeforeJob routine called DeleteHashFiles. Same setup is used in multiple jobs, but in one job, the log does not show that the routine has been called. It should look like this: Occurred: 00:34:10 Event: Starting Job PSRP5011010%rel40.0.0. (...) Occurred: 00:34:10 Event: Environment variable settings...

Chulett: You are right. Of course basic questions needs to be asked. My intention was in the first place to get a quick response as to wheither there actually is a difference in the way SP's are initiated from SQL plus vs Datastage. In parallel to this topic we are looking into the proc itself runni...

for all the basic questions (and I know you mean well) Yes - we do connect to the correct data - other wise we couldn't see the digfferent output. Yes we do run cursors, and we suspect, that the call from DS leaves the cursors either too soon or only takes the last result part Basically for a given ...

ODBC Stored procSQL and Datastage produces different results
DS 7.5.1A on Windows 2003 SP2 - oracle = Ora9.2.0 We have an oracle stored procedure which we execute through Datastage 7.5.1 odbc stage (stored procedure stage is NOT available). When we in sqlplus run "exec owner.stored.procedure" we get the correct result but if we use datastage odbc {c...

How to execute vbs script on remote Win server
Hi I Have searched for appropriate solution already and not found any, so here goes: Requirement is from Windows server to create a datastage server job that can execute a vbs script on another windows server. To map the drive is NOT an option (customer requirement), since that will move the ressour...

Re: Datastage server 7.5.1.A on Windows 2003 R1 SP2
We run that setup - and we haven't faced any issues so far (4 years +))rmcclure wrote:We are running Datastage server 7.5.1.A on Windows 2003 R1 SP1. We would like to know:
Is Datastage Server 7.5.1.A compatible with Windows server 2003 R1 Service Pack 2?
