Can IA push metadata to Metadata Workbench?

We are still awaiting installation of IA 8.1.2. Hence we are unable to play and experiment with the tools. Does IA have any capability to move/copy/export enhanced metadata - i.e., metadata that had been modified in IA - to Metadata Workbench? If so, will such an action overwrite the metadata in Met...

Some IA tasks invoke Datastage?

Don't know if the IA Redbook December 2007 edition is obsolete, but it states on page 28: The IBM WebSphere Information Analyzer Handler is an implementation of the ISF Handler/Agent framework. It implements the interfaces required to participate in that pattern. Its primary responsibility it so rec...

Otherwise under Table Management in IA you should see an option to export Reference tables, from here your Domain and completeness analysis can be exported to a sequential file typically for use down stream by your ETL developers but they could easily be loaded into a table I'm starting to worry he...

No, I haven't. Are they cryptic?

Actually, IA v8.1.2 is still being installed/configured in our shop so I don't even have access to it yet.

Does IA convert tasks into SQL and execute?

When IA conducts an analysis, say RI or data rule, does it execute an SQL code? If so, how does one view the SQL?

Reason I ask is that our DBA is interested in looking at the SQL and determining whether executing the SQL might hamper things in production.

What about an external app such as Oracle BI...can it have read permission? I am trying to avoid having to export analysis results to a file and loading the file into Oracle.

Not that I know of, but if anyone has any 'work-arounds', I'd be interested to know, too.

Thanks, Vincent. We are in the process of moving to 8.1.2 from 8.0.1. Can't wait to use data rules, because I find IA not too useful without customisable business rules profiling.

What version introduced Data Rules?

Can someone please confirm: customisable data rules were introduced in 8.1.1, i.e., the feature was not in 8.0.1.
