Packed Field not converted properly with CFF Stage
I am using DataStage XE Ver. 7.51 on HP Unix box. One of our mainframe job zips and then FTP's a file from mainframe to Unix using binary mode. This file has one field as Packed PIC S9(7) COMP-3. When I use this file in the CFF Stage (After unzipping on Unix), it does not show the correct value. On ...

Check if this POST helps. Thanks for the reply but the last reply from Craig in the post is truncated. I only got this : SHLIB_PATH is correct for HP/UX, it's what we run here. You need to make a small correction to your settings as you seem to have the classic problem of pointing to the 64bit Orac...

Error While Logging to DataStage from Client machine
Last week our server support team installed DataStage XE 7.5.1A on one of our test server, which is a Unix box. I am now trying to log on to DataStage from my client machine but getting the following error : Error calling subroutine: DSR_PROJECT (Action=17); check DataStage is set up correctly in pr...

DataStage Version 5.2r1 client for DataStage version 7.5
Is it possible to connect to DataStage version 7.5 on Unix using DataStage verion 5.2r1 client? This is required as currently we are using DataStage 5.2r1 (Both server and Client) but wants to access other server which has version 7.5.
Thanks.
Thanks.

DataStage 5.2 with Oracle 9i
We are currently using DataStage XE 5.2 (Yes 5.2) on HP server running Unix UX 11.11 using Oracle database. Recently we migrated from Oracle 8.1.7 to Oracle 9.2.0.6. When we unmounted the Oracle 8.1.7 from the server, the first DataStage job abended with the following error : ds_loadlibrary: error i...

Thank you all for your replies and sharing the code. To my original question, just to recap - 1. There is no dsjob command in DataStage for purging the log. :( 2. Project wide Auto-purge will only take affect for the newer jobs created (not compiled) after the project wide auto-purge is set. Thanks....

Purging of DataStage Log from Unix Script
We run all our DataStage jobs using dsjob command from Unix scripts. Few days ago, we made the project wide change using DS Administrator to auto purge the log upto previous 2 runs. I understand that this default 'auto purge' will only apply to the new jobs created after this change. We have some ol...

Thanks Ray. But this involves changing all our dataStage run scripts and adding the dsjob commands at the end. I was hoping DataStage to reset the jobs automatically, but well. But I have seen some abended jobs are reset automatically within DataStage Director. I am not sure why some jobs are reset ...

Automatic reset of a abended job
We are running DS XE 5.2 on a Unix Machine and run all DataStage jobs using Unix Scripts and schedule them using CA-Unicentre. Whenever any DataStage job abends, we have to log on to DataStage Director and manually reset the job before restarting the job from Unix (Uni-Centre). I think we can reset ...
