Need help with reading XML file
Hi, I need some help as I have never done this before. DS Version: 9.1 and OS is Windows I am trying to create a job to read an XML file and load into a NZ table. The XML file is actually set as a .txt file from outside vendors. It looks something like mentioned below. My question is how do I design...

I tried to look at the Kim Duke's website to explore more on etlstats tool but it seems like the website doesn't exist anymore. Does anyone know how I can access this tool?

Thank you, Ray. What is 'skip' property? I don't see it in the Sample Stage. I tested with 10 MM records for which I put the number of records per node as 125,000. I observed that having a generated value for Rnd() function doesn't provide 500,000 records consistently. But when the period is set to ...

Selecting random records from a dataset
Hi All, 1st of all, congratulations for catching up with number of posts on Parallel jobs with Server ones ! This indeed is a milestone on its own. I have this peculiar scenario for which I am still thinking the best approach I should adopt. I have a dataset which contains more than 250 MM records s...

That is a good way but is not what I am looking for. This approach only holds good when you use the performance monitor which in turn gives you the count for the latest run. I am looking for something similar but in the director by which I can see the total counts of the historical runs as well but ...

Is there a way to log row count per link/stage level?
Hi, If we enable the parameter APT_RECORD_COUNTS then in the director I see the row counts being written as Link Name, node. This means for a 4-nodes environment I will have to sum of DSLinkName,0-4 in order to get count of rows passed in the link. Instead of that, is there a way to make the directo...

DS Disconnection Issue
Hi, We have many servers on which IS(7.5.1, 8.0.1 and 8.1.1) has been installed. The problem is that we have been seeing some disconnection errors in all these servers and are not able to figure out why. The errors basically says Error calling subroutine: *DataStage*DSR.ADMIN (Action=38);check DataS...

Do you think it is something related to a derivation? I doubt so. The reason is that this transformer's output is being fed into a Sort stage which eventually goes to another transformer as the primary link while we have an ODBC stage for connecting to Oracle that is used as reference for the 2nd tr...
