@asingh Did you suggest to rename the .isx file after generation or put the .zip extension in the command itself.

I can export the jobs using istool command with .isx or .dsx format.but not been able to import those by designer. It said that the file is of unsupported type & can't be imported.

@harini Using istool command can help you in taking the backup of jobs folder wise
provided that you are using datastage8.1 and the advanced patch is installed.

@chulett Thank you. Just want to add a few things as the topic you have pointed is resolved. someone pointed out earlier that if the password contains '$' a backslash needs to be infront of it. I don't think it is needed.I'm using a password that contains a '$' and without the '/' it is working fine...

This is definitely because of the lack of the proper null handling in the transformer stage.go to the transformer stage , in the column metadata and double click on the column number,a new windows pops out where you can set the null field value. ideally these should be done for all the columns havin...

@ray;@chulett :I am extremely sorry for my previous post. Basically I misunderstood ray's post. Now I get the point.I'll obviously keep that in mind. :) The main question in the post was that transformer is not supporting column name containing '-'.What I was trying to say was that in database...

@ray: can't get you properly what you have said about that 'DB2'.I'm sorry if I miss any topic related 'formalities of posting answers'. I wonder If there is any syntactical checking is done on the answers posted here...less bothered about the 'second person personal pronoun in English' or that sort...

there are some confusions. I don' know how 'Append' mode is checking for the previous data that was inserted. It shouldn't do this unless there is a unique constraint on that specific column.Use 'truncate' in that place. Ideally in datastage if the job aborts the rows should be rolled back.but it is ...

I fear it can't be done.
datatage can't process column names having '-'.
In oracle u can do it. but even then datastage will not support that column
