Problem when calling SP stage

I'm struggling a bit to get the connectivity to the DB in my environement. It's a new project, no "real" Datastage environement yet (it's coming soon), but there is an existing Oracle database on the UNIX server. So in the meantime I have uploaded an image of VM with a Datastage server ont...

Sorry, I've just realised I was checking on the wrong system .

Wrapped Unix command terminated with error

We have number of UNIX shell scripts that I would like to run in DS, in a parallel fashion and I thought I would explore the wrapped parallel stages. So I have created a wrapped parallel stage that runs "test -s" UNIX command. When I'm running a job that contains this stage (and only this ...

In my current engagement, I am using fewer than 12 jobs, but they are generic, dynamic and multi-instance. I have just started a project (early design yet) that has the same goal in mind. It is a re-write of the existing DWH using Datastage instead of a bunch of varying technolgies used currently f...

Maybe I did not take my smart pills today but even if you mark these records as stub records and assign a true surrogate key without a natural key(the dimension code), how are you later going to identify and assign the right stub record with its correct dimensional value. Sorry OP for hijacking you...

Thanks. It worked!! Both ODBC Connector and Oracle EE stage.
It seems that when both DS and DB are on the same machine I must use SID rather than machine ip address.

Issue with connecting to Oracle via ODBC Connector stage

Hi, We have an Oracle database installed on the same Linux box as the Datatstage. I'm trying to test DB connectivity from within the Datastage job while running the Datastage client on my local machine. I CAN connect to my test database from an Oracle Connector stage (it looks like it's using TNS li...

Thanks cppwiz. I have already found and read your thread and it was very helpful. I took advantage of the Take It Again promotion, so I feel a bit less stressed. I also downloaded some 130 test questions and can actually come up with the correct answer to many of them ;-). So I'll try to do my best ...

On-line mock certification exam

Hi, I'm also in the process of preparation for the certification exam for 8.5. I have been using DS for few years, but there are still plenty of topic I'm not familiar with. I'm going through the Red Books and the documentation at the moment. I was also under the impression that there was a mock on-...

After a long week, I could be reading your issue completely wrong but have you tried getting your routine to send a few strings to the logs? For your parameter to appear blank on the other side sounds like the routine is somehow bypassing the bit of code that sets the return value. No, I haven't tr...
