For what it's worth, I can't see syncbi.sh on the site where BigInsights 3.0 (RHEL) is running or on the site where InfoSphere IS 11.3.1 (AIX) is located.

This keeps happening regularly. The client is running DS v9.1 on Windows 8 under VMWare. Is this possibly a sign that their environment is messed up, or perhaps that the problem is running DS under Windows and VMWare?

TFPM-00012 deleteFileRegistration

We are getting this sort of message on several jobs running v9.1 on Windows 8 server under VMWare.

node_node3: APT_PMCleanUp::deleteFileRegistration: file E:/IBM/InformationServer/Server/Scratch3/tsortOkbnZflb is not registered.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

Row counts in Designer are, at best, cosmetic. There are several conditions that can prevent them from being displayed. Don't worry about it. Use the "proper" row counts you can get in the log. What do you get in the Monitor? In the Monitor, we get zeroes for both links flowing from the C...

CFF output link row counts incorrect

We have a DS EE 7.5.1 job that reads a COBOL layout file that has an OCCURS clause in it. There are two output links from the CFF stage. The first link produces everything but the occurs clause data, the second contains the normalized occurs data. Data flows through the stage properly, but the outpu...

I have a sequential file with char(128) C-cedilla as the delimiter string. How do I enter that as the field delimiter in the sequential stage?

Also,It depends on the type of operation done after the sort stage. E.g If you need to remove duplicates with 5 columns being key sorting on only one column will deliver incorrect results. Also it's important whether the first column will give you an even split of the data when you use it to partit...

for dsn ODBC, you have to declarate them in the DSEngine/ODBC.ini AND in the uvodbc.config for each projects.

Good luck :wink:
That odbc.ini has a dot / period in front of it. .odbc.ini

It's a hidden file.

Ray - thanks for catching that; I had forgotten that DataSets will pad out VarChar strings and thus can use significantly more disk storage. We had a case here recently where a VarChar(800) column was used to store 15 characters of data - but for millions of rows. Just changing the data type signif...
