On AIX 5.3 and 6.1 DataStage 7.5.3 has a bug which means you can't import metadata using Orchestrate. Thanks for reply, it wasn't access rights, I had already tried SYSTEM login. I raised a case with IBM support and after installing v7.5.3 they reproduced the problem so an ecase has been raised. I am suprised that nobody else has come across the problem but I guess nobody is using 7.5.3 with EE yet....

First I would just like to clarify a coupld of things. If I am wrong and someone has manged to do this please let me know. 1) It is only possible to use DataStage v7x2 if you have installed MS VS C++ 2003 and is not possible with 2005 or 2008. 2) Is it possible to use MS VS 2003 C++ Express Edition ...

Install v8 using sudo
I am meant to be performing the install of v8 on site but it is not possible to get root access. The UNIX admin says that all additional access is granted through sudo. My question is whether it is sufficient to use sudo root access to perform the install or whether this will just lead to problems. ...

Having said that, have you tried rebuilding the repository? if not.. login to Universe, log to the project that is having the problem, start ds.tools and choose the second option to rebuild the repository. make sure everyone is out of datastage and nothing is running when you do this. cd $DSHOME . ....

I've tried this option and doesn't work. Do you have any other solution? Thanks If I didn't have the help of someone like Ray to explain exactly what to do to delete all the references to the job I would just create a new project and do and export/import of all the jobs. Once happy the new project ...

i checked the log in file in oracle its creating some data but in some procedurs or not running.............. ..not quite sure what you mean here.... ...but some questions?
