Import the metadata and use it just like you would a table.
I'm a fairly new DataStage user - can you give me more detail? I'd find an option to do this in Manager\Import\Tables Definitions?

Oracle view
Is it possible to use an Oracle view as a data source for a DataStage job? This view will include columns from several different Oracle tables. The DataStage job will need to perform certain transforms on the data source, then the data will be written to a new Oracle table.

I am having trouble with a date conversion. It's in the format MMDDYYYY and is being converted from EBCIDIC to ASCII, but then I need to write it to an Oracle table, which expects it in Oracle 'date' format - MM/DD/YYYY.
