Datastage v8.2 - when is the release date?
Hi, I have read some of Vince McBurney's blogs on IT Toolbox and am still not sure: a) when Datastage v8.2 is due to be released; b) If this release will contain the mooted SCCS CVS compatible source and version control tool. Does anyone have any info pertaining to any of the above - if you do, can ...

Cheers Craig. I found a DSX Cutter on the site here and have amended that to export my jobs, sequences, parameter sets and table defs. It's based on a Perl script found here: http://www.dsxchange.com/viewtopic.php?t=113429 The files created are identical bar some header info, I just need to test the...

Thanks guys. Regarding that script DataStageExport1PerJob.bat - it mentions command line. Is that command line on your PC client or from within DS Administrator? Also, is the output from that script suitable for version control, as in you could export using it and then re-import back into datastage ...

Exporting DS components into separate DSX files [more]
Hi, I have been asked to investigate whether it is possible to export all the datastage components in a project or sub-folder as separate DSX files for each component - without having to perform a separate export for each component. This is to enable version and source control using CVS. Is this pos...

I was supplied a patch to install on my C: drive and this did the trick - the ODBC connector stage now works. It seems to have updated my local settings for the client. The patch is called: patch_JR31443v2_client_windows_801fp1.ispkg No idea if this is an official name or not. It was executed using ...

Hi Craig, I have actually managed to locate the cause in my instance. I am using an ODBC connector stage to read a table and then that is used, via a Transformer stage, as a lookup to a lookup stage. If I load the data using ODBC connector stage into a dataset and use that as input, the error disapp...

In addition to the above, it seems this error is caused because I have added an ODBC Connection stage to read our Cross Reference table. I say that because, when I replace it with a row gen stage, the warning disappears... I have tried setting the wave variables in the ODBC connection stage but it s...

APT_DBKeyGenerator is not wave aware
Hi, I am receiving the error below whilst using an Oracle Key generator in a surrogate key stage. The source_type in the stage is Database Sequence. we have been using the same method without this warning for months, but I have created a new job and it is now appearing. Has anyone come across this k...

Stopping a Sequence using Wait for File stage
Hi, I have a requirement to stop a sequence from running if and when a support function needs to do so. My first thoughts were to use a wait for file stage in the master sequence, and if the file arrives, it triggers a terminator stage. However, I have not used a wait for file stage before and the u...
