Do you intend to use other tools in the suite, such as Information Analyzer, on the dev server? This tool would typically only be used in a dev environment.

Can you replicate the problem on the development server?

Could you make a copy of the job in your production environment and change the Oracle output into a sequential file output and see how fast it runs?

Do you have any indexes, constraints, triggers on your target table?

There are some excellent IBM Redbooks on both QualityStage and Information Analyzer (as well as DataStage) available as free downloads from IBM's site:

QualityStage certification

Does anyone know if there's a QualityStage v8.0 or v8.1 certification test in the pipeline?

The only QualityStage certification I can find is for v7.5.

Cheers

A mismatch between Server and Client versions would usually manifest itself as graphical errors on your screen when you view jobs, metadata, etc.

This option will truncate and then append the new rows.

Set the Write Mode dropdown box to 'Truncate' in the Target on the Properties tab on the Oracle stage.

Are you comparing a Null value with an empty string at some point? This would result in an Edit.

Vegas spectacle sounds superb but without big-company backing it's a bit out of scope.

I would position Ascential/IBM courses more reliable than locally produced ones. Was Ray to do a road-show, now that would be first choice.

Thanks. The Las Vegas show certainly looks like the place to be! I'll have to check if it's within my budget and schedule. I think I will have to check with IBM India for courses here. Not being completely clear about the structure of the Datastage courses I want to avoid courses explainin...

PX training course

Does anyone know if there are any Parallel Extender training courses aimed at experienced Datastage developers being held in India or Malaysia/Singapore?

Thanks,
