Issue with using the email notification in a sequencer

Hi all. I am using the email notification to add an attachment and send to a user's email address. When the email is received there is a file with the ".att" suffix that is delivered with it. I do not want this file to be sent and was wondering if anyone has an idea as to what it is and ho...

I meant to update this. My issue turned out to be that the OSH could not parse the output schema record because of a coding error on my part. Once I corrected the coding error I re-compiled and it ran with no problem. The coding error was, believe it or not, I actually went into the column names in ...

LEFT OUTER JOINS

Greetings. I need to do a left outer join in DB2 API and use a between date range, example;; key1 = key2 and date1 between date 2 and date3. I keyed the join into the api stage and it worked in the viewer but the osh abends when I attempt to run it. I then attempted the join stage but do not seem to...

Thanks for all the suggestions. I am going to stay away from anything other than stock stuff because someone else will eventually have to maintain it.

Adding an attachment to an email notification?

Is there a way to either add an attachment or pull a csv file into an email? What I am attempting to do here is notify a user that some updates to a file have occurred and convey what the updates actually were. Thanks!

Craig, I saw that after I took the time to look. Can I go on the assumption that if I do a group by in the ag with the last function I will get the correct total from the stage variable?

I can use the aggregator to make things easer but I think I will also try Chuck's suggestion and accumulate in the stage variables. If I read him right there is an aggregate last function or somthing like that, I have not seen that one before but on the other hand there is a mountain of "stuff&...

Let me explain. Yes it is a transformer step processing/formatting a large amount of data from a DB2 stage. I need the total amounts of three fields at the end for balancing purposes and would like to not have to aggregate the data due to the volume. I can pass a running total into the output link b...

COMMON variables - How to define/use and limitations

Ray suggested a few weeks back that I start a new thread to talk about COMMON variables as they will not port forward to PX. I am back to this project now and we are considering PX. While this may not port forward I still would like to know how to properly define and use these, primarily in transfor...

I am a new user to the forum and datastage. I have been searching for documentation on how to set common variables, how to retreive the values and so forth. How in a transform could I retreive the @user variables as well as the common area stuff?
