I tried importing a table definition for a text file on one of the mapped drives, but the drives do not show up there either. Also the ALLOWNFS parameter is set to 1.

Any other thoughts on the matter would be great.

Thanks,

Drive mapping for text files and odbc

I'm trying to get an odbc connection for fox pro to work on our datastage server (win 2000), the drive is mapped using net use to another server in an nt domain, although all of the servers use novell as well, I can open it up and look at it without a problem through windows explorer, and using acce...

Ok, I fixed the problem but it would be great if someone could explain it. I had changed the default NULL padding from # to 000, trying to get an empty string. Changing this back has resolved the issue. Can someone explain to me what the default null padding is?

Unable to construct external null string

I have a sequential file stage, used as an input as well as an output. Previously there were no problems with this, but somewhere today I have managed to break it. When I run the job or try and open the output like I get the following message TaxVendor..VendorRecord.strVendRecOrder: DSD.SEQOpen Unab...

User defined sql table definition

I have a question regarding user defined sql, specifically in the oracle stage. A colleague says that he did not have to create the output columns when he used user defined sql, but instead that they were created for him. He has never been able to duplicate this, so is it possible to have the column...

The > character is definately not valid by itself as data in an xml file, open the xml file containing this in internet explorer and it will complain that it is not formed properly.

Looks like my problem isn't specific to datastage, I tried to extract the data through an odbc connection to excel and it failed with a similiar error referencing the same column. Thanks for the suggestions, but it looks like I'm gonna have to get the guy who wrote the program using hte fox pro tabl...

Fox Pro and ODBC

I am trying to extract from a fox pro table into Oracle, when I view the data in fox pro through the odbc connection in Datastage it looks ok. However when I run the job after extracting 35000 records it dies with the following error Project:CFSPROD (datastage) Job name:VfAssetExtract Event #:710 Ti...

Ok, I have achieved my original goal, but would like to hear anyone's opinion on the way I did this. Step 1. Extracted the un-normalized data into a hash file Step 2. Normalized out of the hash file Step 3. In a Transformer used UtilityHashLookup on the hash file just populated, to get the un-normal...

Using the exploded sort on the normalized data was definately a problem in Unidata. I changed this to BY.DSND and am getting the results I was looking for. Thanks for the help Should the BY.EXP.DSND work if I am not normalizing in Unidata? just for fun I took out the nomralization and put back the B...

My selection looks like ID = "21849" BY.EXP.DSND AU_READING_DATES , but I am still experiencing the problem when I run this or try to view the data. I tried changing the selection to ID # "" BY.EXP.DSND AU_READING_DATES and got the error tAsAssetUsageReading..source.strSource: ds...
