those are the element definitions that need to be defined. they appear withing the businessgrp tag which repeats n times.

I had a similar problem.

i used another transformer to check IsNull(column) Then set 'X' and in the actual transformer i checked for value of 'X'.

Hi i am using datastage enterprise edition ver 7.5(parallel) i need to create and XML Output by extracting data from a table. All i can see in the pallette is XML Input/Transformer and Output. Releasing jobs held by another User

When ever the designer hangs with a job opened, i kill it. and when opening the same job it gives the error message.

i know that there is something like releasing locks. can you let me know. i am using 7.5 ee edition.

that is a known issue with transformer stage. if you have any functions operating upon the field like Trim and if incoming value is NULL the record is dropped.

NullToZero is ok for integers. you can also check IsNull()=1 then Space else do something.

Hi we recently upgraded from 7.0.1 r1(parallel) to 7.5.1A(parallel) and noticed the performance deteriorated. Is there anything need to be changed in the jobs so that they can perform better. Looks like its only 75% and not 75/79(95%)

Vincent blog says..he got certified with 88%.

thanks for the reply. we didnt upgrade qs. Yes we are in touch with IBM support. We are having this problem for 4 days now and IBM US with a high priority ticket is not able to crack it.
