Yes Manav,

there is a variable @inrownumber and a variable @outrownumber and your can count also by using the stagevariables if that doesn't fit your needs.

Better you tell what you want and we may help you more easy.

Hi Viswanath.S, the new OCI-Stage in version 6.0 is a science for itself. If you don't follow the hand-by-hand way it is not easy. The interface has a nicer look but a much poorer functionality than its predessors. You have to be very, very tricky if you want to use any Parameters or any user-define...

Hello Victor, I have never worked with this kind of passing parameters by reading from the logfile of other jobs. How do you try to read it. The from DataStage foreseen method is Job1 is writing to its own userstatus and Job2 is read from the userstatus of Job1. Wolfgang Huerter ====================...

Hi Billy,

there are a lot of options within DataStage. One is for example sort your table by IdNo and Date and work with Stagevariables, that should be one of many possible solutions.

In that direction it should work. But you should nevertheless check every job.

The Log-information are hosted in the RT_LOG-file in the project directory. This is a Universe-file. nnn is the Jobnumber.

But with the dsjob-command on the commandline, you can access this files too.

If you need more details, let us know.

Hi, and what about stage variables, if all key fields come together? Could be done via an external sorting or a sort stage. one stage variable remembers if key is the same one stage variable remembers the lowest lexographical of field1 one stage variable remembers the highst lexographical of field3 ...

Hi Luca,

it is not datastage which can't it is the operating system. So use 2 files and join them in the after-stage-routine.

Only some "non-logical" ideas, which have had for me already good expierences: (1) Export job, delete Job, reimport job (2) delete the error-making stage and rebuild it (3) parallel the output for to write in 10 files (take the mod of a number field for to devide) and join the 10 files int...

Hi Nat, Timestamp is not easy. Oracle has to get the string like "2003-07-11 12:05:23" that is 'YYYY-MM-DD hh24:mi:ss". Use perhaps first Sequential as target for to be able that you did everything right and then use the table as target. Wolfgang Huerter ===================== Cologne,...
