Hi As Vincent said, there is are no specific things in DataStage that will help you build/manage slowly changing dimensions. On the surface, this may sound like a bad thing (i.e. no 'out of the box SCD', like ActaWorks/Informatica provide). In practice, it's actually a good thing. In my limited expe...

Hello I am assuming that the DataStage user community doesn't do anything nasty with the clients (e.g. power down machines, sever network connection) while logged in to DataStage :-) For expediency, I'll try to answer your questions in order: quote: What are these FIN_WAIT1, FIN_WAIT2, CLOSE_WAIT st...

Hmm.. depends on the definition of 'license limit'. We have a license of 1 developer and 64 run-time (Director) sessions. Anyway, it is possible to connect using the DS Client tools (e.g. Administrator/Director), so I can't nail it down to that. What I omitted to mention is that the message appears ...

UniVerse user limit reached
Hello Over the last couple of days, we've been getting the message "UniVerse user limit reached. Please try again later" when there are 13 or more users declared by LISTU. We use the UniVerse engine a lot in our DataStage work. Could somebody tell us where this user limit comes from, and w...

Hi Luca Looking at your code, nothing seems out of order. (Must admit that I'm on DS 4.2, thus 'job sequencer' is strange talk). We use a very similar method - a bit like this.. ---------- deffun GetParamValueViaODBC('param name') calling 'DSU.GetParamValueViaODBC' *** DataStage routine that grabs a...

Bala.. We are experiencing the same problem here. The problem has been flagged with Ascential since version 3.x, but no resolution is forthcoming just yet. We have been trying to get a reproduceable environment for years, but without success (even though we are experiencing one of these goodies regu...
