me thinks u can use the rexec command in unix to login to that secure web site and dump those files into your local server/machine.

i too have no idea. i came across this problem when only pl/sql queries were being accepted but was giving error when we were trying to access the tables directly. our DB2 7.2 was on an AIX 4.2 machine. we were using DS PX 7.0.

hi luc,

i had a similar problem with DB2 7.2. you will have to give 777 permission to the directory where your tables are in the database. i read it in the documentation. you might want to take a look there too.

correction.do what Eric says. what i said was not related to ur question. i guess its time for a need shot !

i got the exact same problem. it seems these problems are universal!!!

Check what Eric said. i did that too.

also check with ur DBA to see if ur group has the permission to create a file. in my case that was the problem. our group was granted only the select option.

hi ray, i have to do the exact same operation...transpose all rows to columns... the data comes from a mainframe....well thats how it is sometimes...i think its 30-40 row-col transpose... one way is to write the existing SQL code that is being used. this shud b slow. the other u suggested shud b fas...

hi guyz this is an enquiry... the doc for Enterprise Edition says that the BASIC Transformer stage is amongst the new enhancements....but i dont see it in the Processing Palette...but the other 3 stages are there!! my question is it there in the Server jobs and not in PX...logic says so...or did Asc...

Thanks pkm. in the admin environment variables, we checked the instance name, instance owner, instance directory, database name, etc.

then in unix, we checked the group and the required permissions...

its working, thats all i want!..lol

hi guyz i had the exact same error today....source is DB2 table...we are simply sending the data to a sequential file in DS PX 7.0...we are trying to get a grasp of the system now... what Teej told is also true...column propagatioin is enabled...so i'll try removing it at the job stage...lets see if...

Thanks Pilot...all the other fields are identical...out of about 50,000 rows only 2 showed this problem....might just be a typo...but i have no way of verifying that!!!
