Thanks Ray and sorry for responding late You are so right in that unicode is not UTF-8. Apparently when you save it as unicode text in excel, windows word recognizes it and then we used a utility writtin in .NET to convert it into a UTF8 format Once it is in UTF8 format and set the NLS map and loade...
