hi I hit a similar problem; however I am using the newer version 8.0.1 running on windows 2003 server. my sqlldr return code is 7; Input is 9,999,999 records and it failed about 1.8 million records (trying with 800,000 and 1,5 milllion records were ok). Have checked that the process dsprc is running. Also Encountered error 'Failed to connect to host : aa.bb.cc.dd, project UV' (The connection is broken (81002)) from datastage administrator.

Would have to check output of netstat-a command and update outocme.

Just an update that the reinstall did not seem to work. Maybe the uninstall does not clean up the registry (??)

Anyway attempted what Arron suggested and it worked....

The menu bar is the one where the 'FILE VIEW TOOLS HELP' options are situated. It is quite troublesome without this bar in situations where you have opened many windows and would like to close them or to exit from Datastage designer..
