Thank you very much Craig. I guess I was not putting the proper search parameters to find the article you attached. The word apostrophe was throwing it off! I was doing a Google search... will try the IBM site next time too. As the article mentioned I added the UserDefined Parameter APT_OSL_PARAM_ES...

Yup... I was typing the same thing of using the Load button when I saw your response. That did it! Thanks. In the "Include namespace declaration", I clicked on the Load button and loaded the info from the imported XML table definitions. That added the following lines: xmlns:xsd="http:...

I imported the table definitions for the XML and here is what it put: Column,DataType,Description customers,Varchar,/ns1:customers customer_no,Decimal,/ns1:customers/ns1:customer/@customer-no login,Varchar,/ns1:customers/ns1:customer/ns1:credentials/ns1:login/text() first_name,Varchar,/ns1:customers...

Thanks for your response eostic. I did not import the metadata and manually typed up the details into the Ouput tab's "Columns" of the XML Input stage. I added the XPaths manually in the Description as below: Column DataType Description CustomerNum Integer /customers/customer/@customer-no ...

So looks like my contact is unable to establish/find the characterset of the DB2 installed on the AS400. Any ideas or workarounds we could use... keeping in mind we cannot modify the DB.

I sent out the question to them the moment you asked it. Not the most responsive. Am still waiting for a reply. Will let you know once I hear back. Thanks.

Need help with XML tag formatting to different style

Thanks a lot! The '@' in the XPath was what I was missing. This worked great to create the XML as expected. I have always created/read XMLs in the standard format and never did one with this style. Didnt know that was a style of XMLs. Ray, that was what I said... but clients being clients wanted it ...
