Hi All,

As Roy says processing a fixed length file is faster since you avoid using the functions to remove the demiliters.

HI,

I remember getting this error. We opened the lock configuration file and tried to change the parameter but it did not work.

We restarted the server. This solved the issue

HI

You can use the stored procedure to input data to database but if you want to retrieve some value from the database using the stored procedure
then its not quite straight forward. I had once tried to retrieve value using
a stored procedure but could not succeed.

HI,

I think UV stage is also used to store all the matching records for a key .
Eg: 1 key having mulitple values

HI,

I think storing a value of the variable for the next run is not possible
in datastage.

You need to store it in a file or table for reading it in the next run

HI,

As far as i know range lookup is not possible in hashed file as of now. We
have to go through the database query way as of now

This is one the likely features being implemented in the HAWK release.

Please ho through the info for Parallel extender in the forum and those provided along with the software.

Parallel jobs need a differnent configuration namely

1. Separate Software installation for Parallel extender

Hi,

I am not sure but i think we can put the normal transformer(not the basic transformer) in a shared container and use it in PX.

Hi,

We use a tool called metacontroller. Its a scheduling tool which reads data from the table.

Now, if you enter the required data in the table the metacontroller triggers the sequence mulitiple times using mulitple parameters.

Hi ,

Unlike informatica you would not be having workflow for
slowly changing dimensions in datastage.

We need to design the type1,type2 and type3 dimensions on our own way which would suit the requirements.
