How to stop Universe services to install DS 7.0

Universe Services are started. Stop them for install to continue.

I am trying to install DS 7.0 on Win 2K Pro after installing the .NET package and Client.

What is the service name that I have to stop ?

Sorry I just checked the release notes and it does support 2000 Pro also.

I think the issue is with, Serivce Pack or something. I will get back if I need more assistance.

DS 7.0 install issue

I am trying to install DS 7.0 on Win 2000 Pro. this is for testing the DS 7.0 with our old jobs.


Will this work or not? I have got some error. I will post the error very soon.

Try to get the PID from Administrator->command-?DS.TOOLS and
kill that from UNIX..

Unfortunately yes ! We have DS 5.1 and have the sw for DS 7.0. But still didn't updated it ? :(

Thanks bigpoppa. Time to show off for me :D

So, you use OSH for writing OPERATORS and later save them, compile them, make them as a stage and use them in PX jobs.

Is that the usage of them ?

Operator in PX?

Can someone give me and idea abt this ?

I have no clue about PX. Yesterday someone asked what are Operators in PX. I told them I will get back to you tomorrow.

Can someone enlighten me on this with small examples and little descritpion.

or create a dummy job which writes into the same hash file but zero number of records and in that job check the box: 'Clear file before writing' .


and introduce this job in between the two jobs you have in the sequencer. Does this sove your problem ?

or You can check the box:'Clear file before writing' in which case DS will make sure to build the hash file from scratch emptying the contents of it. this is will be a good option if you have many hash files to clean, this will also give you TRUE staging solution of not storing the look-up data from...
