IBM Pseries supported for any linux?
Hi guys long time since I've posted anything and it looks like it's still the busiest DataStage place around. Are there plans to have DataStage run on pseries/powerchip on any linux in the near future? I believe it is supported for AIX on the pseries already. If you do have this detail, please point...

Thanks Arnd, works like a charm. I have now placed the command in as a before job subroutine, i would have thought the $DSHOME/$PATH variables would come into play because the director complains about the command not found unless i physically put the full path and filename to specify where mkdbfile ...

Create HASH file in specific folder using CREATE.FILE
Hi Guys I need to create a 64bit HASH file outside of the project directory. I have tried: CREATE.FILE '\tmp\MYHASH\FILENAME' 1 2000 64Bit for example but the file is still created with the name %tmp%MYHASH%FILENAME in the project directory. Am I right in saying I cant create a HASH file from Admini...

The main area where I have heard of C++ being used is in creating custom GUIs for plug-in stages. For more information on this, see the Plug-In Stage Writer's Guide . I know this is an old entry and I had read before that one would need to contact Ascential to get hold of the plug-in writers guide....

Convert Mainframe jobs to Server jobs
I'm probably hoping for a miracle here, but has anyone seen or heard of a utility to convert mainframe jobs to server jobs?
I doubt that just by importing the dsx this conversion will happen.
If not, I'll have to redevelop them..
thanks

Using MetaStage to find hash file
Hi all
Is it possible to use metastage to find a hash file between projects or even in the same project? The user guide does not mention that it is possible.

thanks Roy, I never thought of that. :!: But, as usual - there is more to the picture (I will be a good end-user!). I will need to automate this process somehow, I'm expecting thousands of files, and I'm not getting data to play with, only the *.cfd - so reading just the cfd in the CFF stage I dont ...

Cobol copybook to SQL conversion
Hi guys I am trying to convert cobol copybooks (or cfd's) into a SQL statement - to create a 'table' of the copybook. i.e. When you import a .cfd into datastage manager there is the "columns" layout of the .cfd file. this view is what I eventually want to create. I have tried to export the...
