Hi Krish,

Thanks for you tips. When I imported the structure for this table, it came as LongVarChar but with out limit. When I put the structure for the Oracle9i stage. It gives me a error. I think 7.5 is good to handle this. Let me check with our vendor for this new version.

Hi ecclesr,

If you like my idea please do as follow:

First create the batch file in a specific directory. Then create a sequential Job in that use the Execute command stage. Then call this Job in the Server Job so the next job will not start till this job completes.

Actually, I changed the column to Varchar with size of 2000 and I tried to transfer the data by concatenate the set of data. But I need the beter way for handling this. If any done please share your ideas.

Hi Pxlearn, It is not a problem. Go to sequential file properties. Select "NLS tab page" in that Select "Allow per column level mapping". Then for the job default you use the same as mentioned. But for that arabic column alone, change "ISO8859-6" in the column propertie...

ORACLE BLOB Datatype

Dear Gurus,
I am trying to transfer a set of data to one column in oracle with the data type blob. When I define as a longvarchar I am getting oracle error message. So any one can help me how to handle this BLOB Data type.

Our Current version is 7.1

Thanks Tonystark. I edited the DSX File and changed the code page from 1252 to 1256 and imported it. It's working fine.

Thanks C.Hulett. Here error message appears as follows: " File L:\Jihad\DSExportcustquery.dsx can only be imported when the client code page is 1252 - it is currently 1256 File L:\Jihad\DSExportcustquery.dsx does not appear to be a valid DataStage export file or is from an incompatible release....

Problem facing while Import Old Version 6.1 Jobs

Gurus,
We have DataStage 6.0 and DataStage 7.1 in different server. I want one job to be moved to the new version 7.1. So I exported the job from the old version 6.1 and while importing to 7.1. I am getting NLS Code page error. If any one did it already can you advice me.

Here is the another solution if you create the server job.

If you use the DataStage Seq File control in the File Path area you can specify like this “C:\Test\File_NAME#BUSDATE#.TXT”

Where BUSDATE is a Job Parameter with type String.
