We will have to migrate from DB2 to Oracle.The current data stage version is 7.1.Could you please let me know which version(s) of oracle is compatible with DS 7.1?are 10g and 11g compatible with DS 7.1?

U can use pivot stage

U shud be able to do it even using pivot stage in DS

what is the format u r supposed to convert

Jus select dsjobtimestamp from the DS macros.The tool will generate it for u.We need not worry at all

If you are handling this in a view then use(to_date(to_char())). If it is coming in ur file and u have to take it from file in Oracle stage the ODBC itself will convert it to char first (while selecting) and while insrting it will conevrt into date and insert.But u only have to c that u use ORACLE8i...

which ever format u want to convert it into.go through the help in data stage.Type ICONV and OCONV u will find solution for all date conversions
