Abnormal termination of Link_Collector_64 detected in DS 8.5

Hello, We are in the process of converting Datastage 7.5 server jobs to Datastage 8.5 server jobs. All jobs were running in production for quite a while and no aborts. Now I have seen a few times the jobs failed at Link Collector, the message like: Abnormal termination of stage SERVER_JOB_NAME..Link...

Datastage 8.5 Authentication Issues

I have searched the forums and could not find a particular answer for my issue, so here it goes. In addition to opening an SR with Oracle (who will have to probably open a PMR with IBM), I thought I would attempt to see if anyone has experienced this issue. Host Info: Linux x86-64 Redhat 5.8 DataSta...

DataStage 7.5.2 on Red Hat 5

We're currently running DataStage 7.5.2 on RedHat AS 4 and wish to move to version 5 because Red Hat AS 4 goes out of support at the end of the month. That being said, we have determined from IBM that they have not certified and will not certify this version of DataStage on RHEL 5. Has anybody made ...

Very good suggestion. this should work just fine. What I did was join this "calendar" table to another full calendar and put them in a hash file, so the lookup will become very straightforward. Thanks! Since you used the magic word - Table - you will be able to do the relational operator d...

This is quite an interesting way to handle this case and it is also pretty complex. I've done this in the past and it works great. Now, it does take a little bit of dedicated time to check it out and fully grok... err, understand it, then get it setup on your system but once you do it's cake to re-u...

How to do a lookup with a range of date

Greetings! I'm having a hard time to figure out how to do a lookup with a range of date. Here is the detail: from an incoming row, i have a specific date, say, budget_dt, and then I want to get the budget_period, which is in a calendar type table, in the calendar table, I only have a begin_dt and en...

The BASIC transform stage will suit you just fine, it will run on as many nodes as your job does. We recently had to do something similar and instead of writing a buildop we used a BASIC stage and ByteLen() to determine actual string sizes with multibyte characters. I'm facing the similar issue her...

You can execute this command from the Administrator client's Command window. Be very sure that you have exclusive access to the project, otherwise your indexes will become invalidated. I would assume that it is the same as 'rebuild repository index' within the DS.TOOLS from admin client interface? ...

Re: Failed to enumerate local groups

I had this issue a week or so ago. IBM sent a patch (ecase 96714) for 7.5.2 on RHL AS 3 which didn't work- but it may be somewhere to start for you. Hello, We were having the same problem, i.e. DS could not get local groups. We got a patch from ibm, e113875-multi-linux.zip. After we applied the pat...
