It's only the case with me. My colleague can produce the bitmap. I've been working on a DataStage project for 10 months now. In the beginning, the bitmap was produced. But up until the last 4-6 months, I can't get them to be generated. I don't know what I've done to cause the switch from getting the...

No image available when generating report

When I try to Generate Report whether it be a job sequence, parallel or server job, I get a "No image available" on the Internet Explorer display. I have tried it with and without Pop-ups being blocked. I do get a restriction security warning from running scripts or ActiveX controls in whi...

Thank you ArndW and Chulett for your responses! I did a mixture of both of your suggestions. I used EOR (End of Record, I presume) characters in which I was able to retrieve a couple of the commands to perform that from a previous post titled, "writing multiple lines from 1 source row", fr...

Thanks for replying Keshav0307. I don't see where I can install logic (like IF-THEN-ELSE) within the COPY stage though. As I said in my post, I have to add XML tags based on input data. Another example is if I create a Transformer Stage variable, I would like to build a new output record if the stag...

Writing extra records

Hello Forum, How do I go about writing extra records for every record read in? For instance, if a input sequential file has 300 records, the output should have 600. Input: 14,A,<FI RSSD901="35301" RSSD905="0014"> 628,A,<FI RSSD901="82203 RSSD905="0628"> Output: 14,...

I'm sorry. I hate to say this but I need further clarification on how each element will dynamically be passed one at a time, up to 500+, prior to reading the file. Do I manually take each old-new column and pass it to the container as a parameter, one at a time up to 500+ times as a maintenance effo...

Hello Forum members, I have a similar requirement at work to dynamically rename columns. I have a couple of questions based off of ArndW's response: 1. Within the Modify stage, would the Specification be coded with one old-to-new column name at a time? So if I have 500+ columns, the container will h...

That was it. There was a namespace tucked away in the XML which caused the problem. Though I didn't quite get what you meant by "deleting columns" so that I am only using "one column". I assume you meant narrowing (deleting columns) down the 1,000+ column/element XML input file e...

OddJob, I started coding your recommendation and hit a few stumbling blocks. How do I declare the output columns in the Output tabs within the Peek & External Filter stages? - Layout after Peek stage is "Col1:Val1|Col2:Val2 etc". Would I declare one long column to hold "Col1:Val1|...

Thanks OddJob.

I'll look it over and give it a try. I'll let you know the turnout...may take a few days though. Appreciate it!

Though, I'm still in the lost of how actual column names and its data become rows of data within this stage. It sounds like the pivot stage alone is not going to handle this requirement.

Thanks for responding Ray.

Thanks Kumar for replying. Is it possible you could give me a little more detail in your explanations. Also, I must mention a couple of things before you do that may change your resolutions. 1. You specified hardcoding the column names in the "Select" statement. I will not be able to hard ...

Dynamically use column names as data to create new columns

Please excuse me if I incorrectly approach this reply in any way as this is my first time. And I hope to explain this thoroughly. I have the same similar situation in my work requirement of a previous posting by "offshore2002" a couple days ago. I wanted to provide a little more detail in ...
