I do see the job id and the job i was asking about.

what i did was i run the uvsh command and then in the prompt i gave
UNLOCK username <jobid>

I tried as u said but still got the issue and finally I resolved the issue by recreating the .profile file and stoped and started the service. Now im able to connect to the ds server.

as a suggestion, i would like to give which is before installing datastage on unix create a primaery group and then create a user dsadm (with Admin (sudo rights) and then install it.
