ya

Yes I tried restarting the server.

It's annoying because it *appears* that the connection is broken, but then you can still do work (albeit with annoying popups).

Inactivity Timeout broken

Hi, I've found that the "Inactivity Timeout" setting found in the Administrator client doesn't seem to work. I've set mine to 10 minutes. If I don't touch the clients for 10 minutes sometimes they will have 'timed out', sometimes not. In the situation where they have 'timed out', i get a p...

datastage

Oh, We're just using DataStage (Not Information Services Director etc). I'm presuming we need "dsrpcd" to be in the process list.. i also presume WAS has to be up???? I'm not sure what else... I'm not sure what you mean when you say the "Information Server" - do you mean the meta...

How to detect server is running

Hi guys, Just wondering if anyone knows the best way to detect the server is running properly? We want to be able to tell if the server has crashed (it doesn't matter if a single job can't be run, only worried about the whole server). Looking at the process list i see: /opt/IBM/InformationServer/ASB...

patch

Hi guys,

I too am having this problem but can't seem to find which patch needs to be installed?

I was wondering if anyone had a link to it? I tried searching the APAR's etc but to no avail :(

(Or do i have to contact IBM support for the patch, would it not be listed?)

Cheers and thanks

Jon

looking around

Hi, So i've looked around.. There is a file /opt/IBM/InformationServer/Server/DSEngine/.odbc.ini. Under the '[Oracle]' section there is a 'Password=' which is blank. Would anyone know if this is where i'd have to enter the Oracle password for XMETA if the XMETA password were to change? Cheers Jon

XMETA password

Hi,

Just wondering something.

If i change the XMETA password on the database, where do I change it within DataStage?

(doesn't seem to be anything on the forum about this)

Cheers :)

Parallel Routine - can't use Environment Variables

Hi guys Just wanted confirmation on something. In a Parallel Routine (C++), you can specify the 'Routine Name' and the 'External Routine Name' and the 'Library path'. I was hoping to have the 'Library path' read from the environment so that we can move through all our test phases. However a Parallel...

Running multiple instances using dsjob

Hi Guys I have written a daemon that polls a JMS queue and kicks off jobs using the 'dsjob' command. It does this and detaches (i.e. it does not use the "-wait" nor the "-jobstatus" flags) - so the job will run in the background. I now realize that there are going to be times whe...

Best way to abort a job

Hi guys I have a filter that has a Reject link. If something comes down the Reject link i'd like to write the row to a file and then Abort the job. The best way I can think of to do this is have: Filter Stage -- reject link --> Sequential File Stage --> Transformer --> Data Set In the Transformer I ...
