i could see two from IBM site.

1.
WebSphere DataStage 7.5.2 for Windows 7.5.2 Windows NT Windows 2000 Windows XP English U.S.


2.
WebSphere DataStage Enterprise Edition 7.5x2 Windows 2000 Windows Server 2003 English U.S.

I think I was suppsoed to use first one, not the 2nd one.

However, the file I downloaded from IBM site has 7.5.2 name, not 7.5x2

in the HELP menu of the Designer..

mine shows 7.5x2
my fiend's shows 7.5.2

he could see the DB2/UDB enterprise stage. Are these two meant for different versions?

But I see the stage in m friend's systems.

Also it was given in manuals..

its not there in stage types itself. I checked in all available stages.

I installed datastage 7.5 enterprise edition.

Yes, IBM is yet to certify for Vista, but I installed successfully7.5.x Now I am thiking of installing 8.0 on Vista with 2GB of RAM. is this enough for server. As manual says, 4-8GB of RAM is needed for server. Can't I install 8.0 server on vista? Unfortunately, my maximum allowable RAM is 2GB, henc...

In Vista, it is different to XP in terms of local admin login. Anybody has idea on this.

I completed installing server and client on my same machine on XP OS. What is the hostname, userid, adn password ti need to give to logon?

client installation complete doesn't mean that you have proper rights. Cient is OS based and server is network based. Hence without proper admin rights, Client gets installed.

You should logon to your system as local administrator.

If you are on Vista, local admin is different from normal admin. This may be true with XP as well.

i was trying to installa datastage server.

After stopping "datastage" service, i restarted the system. it works fine now.

But I got a nother message which I posted in another topic as i opened it yesterday.
