OSH in XMETA

Hi there, One of the tools we've developed to help with impact analysis within datastage jobs scours a few fields within XMETA to look for references to table and column names. Of all the different artifacts in XMETA, the place where we find the most useful information is the column ORCHESTRATECODE_...

Thank you for the tip; protected projects had occurred to me, but I hadn't really put together that the Datastage Developer would be "reduced" to an import role in a read-only project. That's helpful. I'm afraid I probably can't do exactly what I'm trying for, though. A central part of the...

Modified User Role for Importing/Exporting?

I'm afraid I already know the answer to this, but on the off-chance that someone here has developed some trickery to these ends... Has anyone here found a user role or group permissions combination that would enable a person to have access to a datastage project insofar as they can import and export...

I can't be sure because I'm not close to a box I can try it out on, but I think you may need to find a way to escape your hyphens... Perhaps by using quotes around them?

I think what Craig is getting at is that your permissions aren't set up correctly for those files. Whether they exist or not is not in question; whether all users in the groups you need have read/write/execute permission is.

Check those and see if you have any more success.

You should be able to run a link from your second Job Activity to either a Terminator or a Routine Activity that will abort and log the job failure. Once you have established a link, change the Expression Type of that link (found in the properties of that job activity) to "Warning".

Transformer code evaluation

Hello all: I have a bit of a beginner's question regarding Datastage's parallel transformer and code placed into the destination derivation. I was looking at some old custom-made server routines the other day and saw that any custom routine could be "tested" outside of the job. That is to ...

It's also possible that an earlier, working version of the program wrote data to the destination file that was valid. Changing the program stages in a way that won't produce data means that the program may not work, but using the "View Data" function in the destination (I think of a seq. f...
