Difference between two dates and return value in hh:mm

Hi,

I am trying to find out total number of hours including minutes between two given dates(parallel job).

eg:
dt1:2009-12-23 21:00:00
dt2:2009-12-22 12:30:00
output: 15.30

Wondering how to make the second job run because if the first job is succes (lookup success) means there is a matching record exists and if matching record exists i dont want to go to second job
