Obtaining the stats of the run jobs

Hi, Could anybody tell me what would be the easiest way to find out the longest running jobs. Possibly to get a list that would be ordered in one way or another? While at it, also showing what are the last finished jobs on a given day. This is obvously all visible through a director, but it takes ag...

Apologies Vipson,

That IS true for Windows. I missed out on the fact that your DataStage is on Unix.

To stop dsrpcd - run 'services.msc' on the server machine, and in the list of the services displayed right click the one you want and choose stop.
You will do the same to run it again, except for choosing 'start' after right clicking.

Thanks guys.

I would like to add a bit more for those that might be interested.
On a Windows platform, deleting a DS_TEMPnnn folder will not affect the consequent runs of the jobs. But at the point you wish to re-compile the same job, you will regret deleting the folder.

DS_TEMP Deletes

Hi, In our project folders (few environments as well) there is over 3000 of DS_TEMP folders. For the pursposes of testing I deleted few of these belonging to the different jobs and noticed that it does not affect them. Would it be to risky if I was to delete every DS_TEMP folder? What exactly is its...

I know its been a long time since this topic has been opened but I only got around to fix it now, so... Fortunately Ray, I did not have to go the lengths of re-installing the client, as machine restart fixed it up. I would've done it long ago, but the remote machine is not under my control. Thanks a...

Hi Ray,

Would it help if I was to copy the missing files/objects from my local instance of the client installation?
The reason I am asking this is only because it would take a hell lot of a time to get it re-installed on the remote machine.

Problems while exporting from DS Manager

Hi, All of a sudden I started getting an unusual sequence of warnings whilst trying to export jobs in DS Manager from both of my development and acceptance environments. It happens only when I try this whilst logged in remotely onto the machine that hosts both the server and the client. Exporting lo...

Hi, I am far from good in writing routines and was hopeful somebody could tell me why is it that the I get my file twice written to? 2 arguments passed to a routine are: InputArg and ErrorCode InputArg = "echo 'test line' >> target file " The routine's code is as follows: _________________...

Hi Ray, Thanks for a quick response. I am sure you see it solved, but I am sorry to say that I did not quite understand. A bit about using the stage variables to store header and trailer information is clear. But where exactly you are suggesting to use the before and after-stage subroutines? Regards...

Help needed with hashed files

Hi, Before I start explaining the issue with the hashed files, I would like somebody to confirm that there is no way to extract a value from a text file and store it into a job parameter within the job itself? OK, the current design is as follows. There is a text file that has to be split into 3 bec...

Hi Rajesh,

Not quite the problem I had in mind. Yours sound much more complicated. And to be frank, I still don't understand it...

Are you saying that you need to keep a running total of all footer counts of your source files?
