lookin at the funcationality of the folder stage which reads mulitple files. it only uses 2 fields one which has the file name and the other which puts all records pertaining to a particular file in one column ..... i dont get whats the point of doing this ? because if you merge records from differe...

Well thanks ... .i did not know abt the HFC before.. anyways i am using the default values which seem to be ok ..... there are only 190 records in the file(approx 5-10kb) which shouldnt take much space... and as the number of groups (modulus) is defined to 1 and its size (Group size) is set to 1 (i....

Hi, working on DS 7.x . whats the need to use Hash files for joins when we can do the same with tables ? and if it is about hashing which makes it faster. in Teradata you can hash the key columns .... so when to choose what ? and why prefer hashfiles over indxed tables to carry out a join of the seq...
