I must have hallucinated writing something... that or I just can't find it. However, this did turn up: http://www.dsxchange.com/viewtopic.php?t=82785 You can also do an exact search on one of the hashed names to find other posts, some with even more low level detail. For example, try searching for ...

Ug. An upgrade is the simplest thing in the world. Other than taking a backup, as you did, the process is to simply install the new version right over the top of the old one. It handles everything automagically. Did you uninstall the old version or do something that caused the Projects to need to b...

Datastage Version:How toupgrade from 7.5.1 server to 7.5.2?
I am converting our datasstage ser5ver from 7.5.1A to 7.5.2 and the method I am following is take a backup from the Datastage Manager and importing back the Jobs after 7.5.2 server and corresponding projects are created. This seems to be working good except for the Version Control Project. If I do t...

Having restored DSEngine and the projects, try reinstalling the server. This should go into maintenance mode. If there is a hidden file in the root directory its pathname would be .dshome - check for hidden files in the root directory ls -al /.* -- I checked , there is no file like that in root dir...

If you re-installed the DataStage server, then created empty projects with the same names and absolute locations as before, then overwrote those directories from a restore you should have been able to see the jobs. If you attach to the directory from UNIX you should see a number of files - i.e. RT_...

Ok, that message means that your DSParams file is actually in the project directory. Can you explicitly set the permissions on the file to allow all access to everyone and see if your error message goes away? I changed and tried to login, I get the same message while logging in . Even the different...

does ds_jobobjects supported in the hawk edition ??
I know the datastage 8.0 or hawk edition is different from servers edition w.r.t architecture, but not sure of how much different it is . Does ds_jobs , ds_jobobjects hash files /tables are supported (i.e. has the correct design time information what it used to contain pre 8.0 versions ) in datastag...

Did you try using configuration file with a single node? If so is there any improvement in the performance? yes , with single node , it is 5000 rows/sec input and output is 2000 rows/sec output. you can use fileset stage to write instead of sequential file stage we tried , Not much improvement No e...

Improving the sequential write performance
Our unix machine is 4 pysical (8 logical CPU) machine with 32 GB RAM . I had a simple job Reading from the input sequentual file and one loopkup stage ( lookup from seq, file with 1000 rows ) with and writing into sequential file. input stage was able to read 15,000 rows/ sec , but the output stage ...
